15 October 2024: Supplier Risk Assessment

Event Monitoring: End of Sentiment Metrics for Event Assessment

To streamline event evaluation for ESG analysts, sentiment metrics such as polarity and positivity have been removed from the Event Monitoring module. This update ensures a more focused and efficient approach to assessing event severity and keeps the focus on the Intensity Score.

Supplier Risk Assessment [Prototype]

Aiming to help corporates better evaluate supplier risks, we're introducing two new dashboards as part of our Supplier Risk Assessment tool. These dashboards enable users to profile and monitor suppliers based on their risk levels, providing actionable insights.

Supplier Profile Dashboard

This dashboard quantifies the risk of individual suppliers through comprehensive scores, covering reputational, sector, and country risk factors.

The main metric, the Supplier Risk Score (ranging from 1 to 5), is calculated as a simple average of:

  • Controversy Exposure Score: [1–100 scale]
  • Sector Risk Score: [1–5 scale]
  • Country Risk Score: [1–5 scale]

Supplier Risk Monitor Dashboard

This dashboard categorizes suppliers into five risk levels using a scatter plot.

  • X-Axis: Supplier-specific risk, represented by the SESAMm Supplier Risk Score.
  • Y-Axis: The company’s reliance on each supplier, as provided by the user.

This visualization helps companies quickly identify high-risk suppliers critical to their operations and prioritize risk mitigation efforts effectively.
