Analyzing the Results
After running a search, on the left, you see the results list, which includes the 500 most recent documents of the search. The result list can be sorted by sentiment polarity or by date.
You can also batch translate the documents’ titles. When the button is activated, the titles of the documents in the “summary view” of the search result list are automatically translated to the user’s target language for translation (as defined in his account’s settings).
Clicking on an article will expand it from the “Summary view” to the “Extended view”.
In the center portion of the screen there are several tabs to help you analyze the results.
Charts Tab
The charts tab features two charts showing:
- Volume and sentiment chart over time
- the distribution of the volume of documents by source type
- median sentiment for all selected document types
- the language distribution of the search result documents
Trending Topics Tab
This tab displays the 30 most republished document titles in the search result. Each line item is clickable, allowing you direct access to the underlying content. Next to each title you see:
- Last published date: most recent date of the document cluster
- Sentiment polarity: The mean sentiment polarity of the document cluster, based on document-level polarity
- Volume: The number of articles published on that topic
Top Websites
This tab shows the 30 most prevalent websites from the search results, as well as the volume of articles and percentage of articles from that website in the results.
